We are sourcing for a hands on and experienced Director, Talent Acquisition who will be reporting to the Executive Vice-President, Human Resources. This role will be based in Markham, ON. The Director, Talent Acquisition shall have the primary responsibility of providing leadership, strategic direction and implementing effective, creative results-driven talent strategies that meet business goals and objectives nationally. This role will have three direct reports located in ON and NB.

Key responsibilities include:

• Empower the Talent Acquisition team through regular mentoring, coaching and engagement practices by sharing industry trends, market intelligence, and best practices,
• Develop cost effective, efficient solutions to address current and future staffing needs including proactive sourcing, passive candidate pipelining, productive candidate management, advertising, pre-screening, assessments, references etc.
• Leverage technology and automation to improve the effectiveness of recruiting processes and enhance the candidate experience while minimizing costs
• Establish frameworks for managing preferred vendor relationships and negotiate agreements for recruiting and outsourcing requirements
• Establish partnerships with local colleges, universities community programs to build a pipeline for future hiring needs.
• Lead by example through the direct management of senior level and difficult-to-fill requisitions and ensuring an exceptional candidate experience.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 8+ years leadership experience within Talent Acquisition
• Ability to move between recruiting for own positions while leading a team of professionals
• Depth of experience/knowledge in Talent Acquisition including targeted sourcing strategies, social media campaigns, and candidate assessments
• Proven ability to execute, organize and excel in a fast-paced and ever changing environment
• Proactive leader with exceptional decision-making skills and the ability to manage expectations effectively to successfully achieve multiple, competing priorities
• Act as a strategic and analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with senior executive and various corporate functions.

Nice to have:

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline. Preferred
• Bilingual – English & French
• A strong understanding of human resources programs, policies and practices related to recruitment and employment
